Willie Mae Staples, age 99, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving family on August 1, 2026, in Saltillo, Mississippi. She was born on January 22, 1927. She attended New Bethel Church of God of Prophecy in Tupelo, MS and stayed steadfast and resilient in her faith until the Lord called her to His eternal home. She was a Beloved Mother and Grandmother and was known for her gentle spirit and caring heart.

She is survived by her daughters, Dorothy Burt of Saltillo, Sue Hill of Tupelo, Carolyn Waller of Belden, and Nancy Cunningham (Tommy) of Saltillo; son, Eugene Staples of Saltillo, and a special son, Dimitri Marion (Teresa) of Bullard, Texas, 22 grandchildren, 63 great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmore Staples, daughter, Gloria Linda Dixon, parents, Minerva Evans, Gussie Lee (Jack) Evans, Arvaria Evans, mother-in-law, Nancy Staples, daughter-in-law, Hazel Staple/and great grandsons, Xavier Staples and Eddric Gates.
