Mr. William Hankins (Freeman) was born in Verona, MS on August 13, 1937. He was the oldest of four siblings born to Mrs. Bessie Medcalf and Tom Freeman. He gained his angel wings on February 5, 2022 at North Mississippi Medical Center.
In his early years, William worked for the City of Tupelo until 1968. He then started his career at KI and remained a faithful employee until his retirement in 1999.
William loved the outdoor life. Some of his favorite hobbies included hunting. He was also a big fan of baseball. He was very active and very supportive of his favorite baseball team, which was the Verona Yellow Jackets.
He was preceded in death by his mother Bessie Medcalf, his father Tom Freeman, wife Earlene Freeman, his children Jerry and Terry, Ronnie Freeman, Darlene Freeman and two brothers Robert Hankins and Robert Brown.
William leaves to cherish his love his children Charlie (Renee) Freeman, Betty (Eddie) Ruff, Connie Freeman, William Freeman, Ersa (Kathy) Freeman, Flora Lee Evans and Teresa Beene, all of Tupelo, MS; one sister Freddie J. Morris of Tupelo, MS, one brother William Henry Hankins of Tupelo, MS; twenty-five(25) grandchildren, forty-one(41) great-grandchildren; six (6) great-great grandchildren; two special nephews Ben and Carl Anderson of Tupelo, MS, a special friend Jeff Stevens of Tupelo, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
