William David Edwards, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and cherished member of his community, passed away peacefully on April 23, 2026, in Pontotoc, Mississippi. Born on August 14, 1945, in Nettleton, Mississippi, William lived a life marked by devotion to family, his faith, and the simple joys that brought him comfort and happiness.
William was known for his spirited love of the outdoors, especially rabbit hunting, an activity he deeply enjoyed throughout his life. He treasured spending time with his family and friends, valuing these moments above all else. His faith was a cornerstone of his daily life, often found listening attentively to preaching on television, which brought him great solace and strength.
William’s family remembers him as a warm and dependable presence. He is survived by his devoted wife, Linda Hall; his son, David Edwards, and David’s wife, Margaret; his daughter, Brittany Stripling, and her husband, Dale; and his grandson, James Edwards, Jr., along with his wife, Nikki. Together, they carry forward the legacy of kindness and resilience he imparted to them.
He was preceded in death by five brothers: James Edwards, Leroy Edwards, Junior Edwards, John Edwards, and Leon Edwards, whose memories he held dear.
A viewing to honor William’s life will take place on April 27, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Richmond Pentecostal Church, located at 108 Co Rd 806, Tupelo, Mississippi. Following the viewing, a Celebration of Life will be held from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the same location, offering family, friends, and community members the opportunity to come together and share stories and memories of a man who touched so many hearts.
William David Edwards’ life was a testament to the enduring values of love, faith, and fellowship. He will be thoughtfully remembered and treasured by all who had the privilege to know him.
