With deepest sympathy we remember Mr. William Grady Counts...
William Grady Counts was born to Fred McCoy and Anna Altson Counts on July 30, 1937, in Haverstraw, NY. He died on May 8, 2020.
He is survived by his wife Mary Louise Counts, his children Brenda Lakes (JD), William Counts Jr, Tora Sontosha Quarles (Donald), Jason McCoy Counts (Kyong); his brothers Henry Counts (Molly) and Theodore Counts; a sister Shirlee Counts Cola; eight grandchildren, eight great-grand children and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He was preceded in death by both of his parents, a sister Doretha Puryear and brothers George Counts and McCoy Coit Counts Jr.
William was affectionately known as "Baby" Counts. He worked for the Rockland County Highway Department of New York for twenty-two years. He was also known as Mr. Bill to those he came into contact with thru his job as a crossing guard in Tupelo, MS.
He dedicated his life to Jehovah and was baptized as one of Jehovah's witnesses in November of 1974. He loved being able to talk to people about God's Kingdom and what that Kingdom would do for them. He was also there when you needed him, to offer whatever assistance was needed. Many have expressed that he was like a spiritual father to them.
