Wiley Marvin
Hallmark
Jun 20, 1949 — Jul 27, 2026
Nettleton
Wiley Marvin Hallmark, cherished father, devoted brother, and beloved friend, passed away peacefully on July 27, 2026, at North Mississippi Medical Center. He was born on June 20, 1949, in Lee County, Mississippi, where his journey through life began and where he built strong bonds with those fortunate enough to know him.
Wiley’s story is rooted in the rich soil of northern Mississippi—a place he always called home. The son of Cordie Hallmark and Agnes Oswalt, both of whom preceded him in death, Wiley was shaped by a loving family whose values he carried forth with quiet strength and dignity. He was also preceded in death by his daughters, Melissa Curry and Barbara Hallmark, whose memories remain deeply cherished.
Those who survive to honor Wiley’s memory include his devoted siblings: Linda Bunch, Glenda Moody, Gayle Plunkett, Virginia Oliver, and Becky Lawson. The closeness of these siblings enduringly reflected Wiley’s belief in the enduring power of family, offering one another encouragement and love throughout their lives.
Wiley’s legacy lives vibrantly on through his children: sons David Lothrop, Daniel (Jasmine) Lothrop, Donald (Amy) Lothrop, Marvin (Laurie) Hallmark, and daughter Angie (Jerry) Mitchell; his twelve grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren. Each child carries a piece of his steadfastness, his warmth, and his example of perseverance. Through them, his spirit and lessons will continue to inspire future generations.
Those who knew Wiley remember him as a man of quiet integrity, whose presence offered support, stability, and kindness. He will be greatly missed by his many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
His sense of duty to family was unwavering, and his compassion touched many lives across the years. Whether surrounded by family or friends, Wiley approached life with humility and respect, leaving a meaningful and gentle mark on everyone he encountered.
To honor Wiley’s life, visitation will be held on July 31, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at N.L. Jones Funeral Directors, 2510 S. Gloster St., Tupelo, MS 38801. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the same location. Family and friends are invited to gather, share memories, and pay tribute to a man who gave so much of himself so quietly and steadfastly.
As we say our goodbyes, we remember Wiley not only for the memories shared but for the enduring strength, love, and resilience he imparted. Though he will be dearly missed, his legacy continues in the hearts and lives of those he leaves behind.
