Wendell Ray Betts was born to Ethelene Rogers Betts and the late V L Betts on October 28, 1964. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and united with New Bethel M.B. Church. Wendell completed his high school education at Shannon High School and attended Itawamba Jr. College one year and majored in graphic designing. He was employed at KI for a number of years. Wen was very active in church, during his early age of life. He served on the Usher Board, Sunday School Secretary, and also prepared the bulletins for worship service. He was a kind hearted person, and loved to embrace the mother's of the church each Sunday. He leaves to cherish his memories, a loving mother Ethelene Betts Mabry, a stepfather James Mabry; two sons, Tyron D. Spearman of New York and Ray Davis of Atlanta, GA; two aunts, Willie Sue Betts of Plantersville and Bertha Griffin of Chicago, ILL; four uncles, O'Neal (Martha) Rogers of Plantersville, Celee (Mary) Rogers of Arizona, Perion Dozier of Michigan and Flozell Rogers of Tupelo; one grandchild Tyrhianna F. Davis and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father V L Betts, one brother Victor Kent Betts, and other family members.
