Roosevelt Johnson was born April 30, 1941 in Pontotoc, MS to the late Booker T. and Louanna Clay Johnson.

He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and attended Bethel M.B. Church in Pontotoc, MS. "Rose," later joined Kimble Chapel M.B. Church in Belden, MS where he remained a loyal and faithful member until he was called home by our Lord and Saviour on December 30, 2020.

He leaves to cherish his memories three daughters: CaTrina (Michael) Johnson-Ball, LaTonya (Derrick) Clifton, Tawana (Jerome) Harris, all of Tupelo, MS, nine grandchildren, two great grandchildren, one sister Viola Cooperwood of Pontotoc, MS; one sister-in-law Mamie (Charlie) Johnson of Pontotoc, MS; his nephew, caregiver and best friend James (Jimmy) Cooperwood of Tupelo, MS and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by four brothers: Alford Johnson, Elbert Johnson, BJ Johnson, Charlie Johnson; two sisters: Essie Mae Souter and Louistine Hodges.
