Obituary

With deepest sympathy we remember Mr. Ronnie Johnson...

Ronnie "Pete" Johnson, the first and only son to the late Rosie L. Johnson and the late Cleodis McMorris, Jr. entered into this earthly world on January 7, 1957 in Monroe County, MS and he ascended into his eternal home on Saturday, April 18, 2020 at 3:30 P.M. at his home in Shannon, MS.
He professed Christ at an early age and joined the Pine Grove MB church then under the pastoral care of the late Dr. E. C. Cayson.
He attended Nettleton Public School and graduated in 1975. While at Nettleton he was standout basketball player and later joined the Pine Grove Jets baseball team in the Pine Grove Community.
Ronnie married his best friend and the love of his life Juanita W. Johnson and this July 22, will have marked 43 years for this union. With this union two sons were born, Aric Johnson and Derrick Johnson and ten grandchildren.
Ronnie was employed with Action Furniture, Borden Ice Cream and True Temper in Amory and retired with 30 years of service in 2017 with True Temper. He was an avid sportsman loving both indoor and outdoor sports.
Ronnie loved his family and enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren who with great affection called him "PawPaw" and he adored them and he adored being their PawPaw.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Juanita W. Johnson., two sons Aric L. Johnson and Derrick L. (Latoya) Johnson of Potts Camp, MS. ten grandchildren: Jaderious Johnson, Dedrick Johnson, Ashanti Turnage, Janya Turnage, Ja-Mrie Turnage, Laken Johnson, Derrion Johnson, Daylan Johnson, Terrance and Aliya. Three sisters Rosalin D. Johnson , Ramona L. (Chris) Johnson-Medearis and Erica Berry, one aunt Eula Johnson, one uncle Thomas "Sonnie" Johnson, sister-in laws Carolyn (Willie) Davis, Evie Betts, Brenda (Ronald) Page, Vanessa Brooks and brother in laws Ben (Cynthia) Davis, Jerry Hunt, Danny Brooks, Patrick Harris and Jimmy D. Brooks and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Sharon Bogan.

Private Graveside Service: Saturday, April 25, 2020 at 12pm at Pine Grove Church Cemetery, Shannon, MS
Walk Thru Viewing: Friday, April 24, 2020 from 4-6pm at the funeral home.
