Obituary

Ray Benson "Bennie" Patton was born on June 2, 1962, in Baldwyn, Mississippi, to the union of Charles Ray & Pearlie Mae Patton. He graduated and earned his diploma from Muskegon Heights High School in Muskegon Heights, Michigan, and later continued his education at Grand Valley State University in Township, Michigan. He shared many special moments with his brothers, Charles, Ted, Bobbie, and his sister Keosha.
Muskegon, Michigan, was a city of happiness for Bennie. It was here that he found Pamela, who would forever hold his heart. Without hesitation, Bennie knew that Pamela was the one for him, and on October 27, 1997, they were married. Adding to his and Pamela's happiness were their sons: Angelo, Brian, Jurrard, Lawrence, Rayshawn, and daughters Shameaka and Gelisa. In addition, they were also blessed with their three godsons, William, Marcus, and Jacciren.
Bennie was always known as a hardworking man. He found excitement as an insurance agent, but it was in Mississippi where he found his passion for truck driving. The open road was something that he truly enjoyed. It allowed him to see new places, make new friends, and provide for his family.
Bennie was always the life of the party. It was his smile and jokes that made others feel good. Loving was a word that described him the best. No matter what you needed, he was always there. His heart was always open to others, and his compassion showed in his actions. Amongst the many things he loved, he also enjoyed fishing, bowling tournaments, playing poker, and most of all, riding motorcycles. He was a member of the Smooth Riders and the Buffalo Soldiers. Because of his motorcyclist and trucker family, he earned the nickname "The Love Doctor."
On May 26, 2022, God knew Bennie needed to rest and called him home. Surrounded by the love of his family, Bennie went on to be with his parents Charles Ray & Pearlie Mae Patton, his grandparents, his son SGT Jurrard Williams, and his daughter Shameaka Patton. He leaves the following people to carry on his legacy and love: his wife Pamela; his sons, Angelo Patton, Brian Williams II, Lawrence Taylor, Rayshawn Patton; his daughter, Gelisa Dennard; his brothers, Charles A. Patton, Ted M. Patton, and Bobbie D. Patton; his sister Keosha Aldridge; his godson's William Pinson, Marcus Morris, Jacciren Dilworth; his daughter-in-law's Brandi (Jurrard) Williams, and Ericka (Angelo); his grandchildren Jacquez Williams, Kaden White, Jordan Williams, Jazmine White, Jocelynn Williams, Khalyiah Patton, and Jazelle Wiley; his special aunt, Mae Patton; his great friend John and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
