Obituary

Olivia Fields Walker passed away in her home in Tupelo on June 21, 2023. She was born on May 15, 1934 in Monroe County to Jacob and Ira Bell Conway Fields, and was the third of eleven children. She was a life-long member of the Poplar Springs C.M.E. Church in Shannon, where she served faithfully on the Steward and Missionary Boards, Kitchen Committee, and as President of the Pastor's Aide. Her life embodied faith and reflected a devotion and love for God.

She was a faithful wife to Chester Walker, who preceded her in death in 2010 and a devoted mother to her seven children, two of whom also preceded her in death. She retired from AirCap Company of Verona after 26 years of employment, where she was a dedicated worker with an unmatched work ethic.

The public viewing will be Wednesday, June 28, 4 - 6 p.m. at N.L. Jones Funeral Home, 2510 S. Gloster Street in Tupelo. Celebration of life service will be on Thursday, June 29, at 11 a.m. at Poplar Springs C.M.E. Church in Shannon with Rev. Matthew L. Freeman, officiating and Rev. James T. Stewart delivering the eulogy. Interment will be in the Poplar Springs Community cemetery.
