Obituary

With deepest sympathy we remember Mr. Milton W. Woods
Birth: Ollie and Everett welcome the birth of a baby boy into their family of Larry, Sylvester, Brenda, Joe, and Thomas Woods on October 9, 1963. Milton love of children  was evidence in the faces of his children Darin Owens, Radrick Woods, JaMia Woods.  He loved his grandchildren and was "Papa" Lexy, Triston, London, Caleb, Skai, Kenlie, Kenden, Edy, and Eilyjiah.
Sports:  Milton has a love for sports and play corner back at Tupelo High School where he was coached by Coach Black. He was inspirational in winning several games. His most fond memories came from sharing his playing days at THS.
Single Parent:  While still in school Milton became the proud father of two sons that brought him many joyous moments as a father. He was able to share his love of sports and outdoors with Darin Owens and Radrick Woods and was a very proud father at football games.
Work:  Milton was a man of many talents. He love working on cars with his dad, Everett Woods. He was the mechanic of the family. He was good at doing odd jobs also. He loved to mow yards and work outside. He worked at several manufacturing companies but was most comfortable as a tow motor driver. He was able to make his hobbies a career such as cooking on the grill and frying fish as he loved to do at Aunt B's Soul Food.
Marriage:  Milton met Peggy Buchanan and his life was never the same. He fell in love and enjoyed three years of their friendship before asking her to become his bride as they traveled home from Ft. Lauderdale Milton proposed. Three months later September 28, 1991 at 114 Hancock Street the two became one witnessed by family and friends. To this union they experienced the birth of a beautiful baby girl on July 31, 1997. JaMia LaJoyce Woods became the apple of his eye and he enjoyed many wonderful special moments they cherished together.
Service: Saturday, August 31, 2019 at 2 p.m. at White Hill Missionary Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Porter's Memorial Park.
Visitation: Friday, August 30, 2019 from 4-7 p.m. at People's Community Church.
