Obituary

Mary C. Trice Coleman was born on November 15, 1957 to the
late Clifton Trice and Mozell Morris Curry.

Mary transitioned peacefully on December 10, 2020 at her
home. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age, joining
the Johnson Chapel M. B. Church in Shannon, MS, where she
remained faithful until her passing. She lived an active
Christian life in the duties of her church serving on the Usher
Board, a member of the Inspirational Choir, and director of the
Children's Choir.

Throughout her life Mary was a dedicated worker with many
achievements, however her proudest accomplishment was
becoming the mother of Jaiki A. Shumpert. To know Mary was
to know her heart for Jaiki, their bond was indescribable and
will live on forever.

Mary's jovial spirit brought joy to many friends, coworkers,
and acquaintances over the years. She will always be
remembered for her willingness to help anyone and for being
"the life of the party".

Mary is survived by her daughter, Jaiki Shumpert; mother,
Mozell Curry; sisters, Ethel Pearl Isby and Elizabeth (Carlton)
Strong; a bonus sister, Cynthia Birmingham; uncle, Carl
(Wilma) Trice; aunt, Jacqueline Wood; step-mother, Ludie
Trice; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Clifton Trice;
paternal grandparents, Hessie and Laura Trice; maternal
grandparents, Robert Lee and Willie Mae Morris; brothers,Terry Coleman and Robert "Sonny" Birks; and a special aunt,
Shirley Marshall.
