Lorine Dancy was born October 10, 1929, in Lee County to the late Odell and Emma Kimble. She departed this earthly life on Sunday, January 2, 2022, at the age of 92 years old.
Lorine accepted Christ at an early age at Hopewell Missionary Baptist Church in Belden, MS. She fellowshipped with different churches spreading the gospel wherever she went. She was a God-fearing woman who shared her love for the Lord with everyone she met.
At the age of nineteen, she united in holy matrimony to Levert Dancy. She always expressed that she was married to one man for 53 years. From this union, nine children were born. She was a devoted wife and mother who loved her children and family.
In her neighborhood, Lorine was known as the candy and ice cream lady. She loved all the neighborhood kids that came to buy candy and ice cream. Lorine loved to cook and was well-known for her homemade fried pies and biscuits. She was also known around town as the "Pie Lady" for years and most people called her Momma or "Madea".
Lorine leaves to cherish her precious memories: one sister: Cindy Mae Reese of Chicago, IL; one (1) sister-in-law: Hattie Mae Dancy of Saltillo, MS; three (3) daughters: Lerine (WC) Brim of Tupelo, MS; Velma Dancy of Tupelo, MS, and Mary Hankins of Tupelo, MS; one (1) son: Mack (Christina) Dancy of Sherman, MS; thirty (30) grandchildren, fifty-eight (58) great-grandchildren, twelve (12) great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband Levert Dancy; mother and father, four (4) sisters: Pearl, Lucile, Geraldine, and Emma Jean, two (2) brothers Isaac and Robert, three (3) sons: Lee Jr., Richard, and David, and two (2) daughters: Shirley and Ann Mae.
