Laura Monroe Barnes was born August 18, 1924 to Rothie Williams and Harold Monroe in Tennessee. Laura was born one of four children: Sarah, Harry, and Alfred. As a young woman, Laura received Christ in her life, and was also a faithful member in church. She met and married Jimmy L. Barnes. During the union they had two loving sons Louis A. Barnes (Alma) and Forrest A. Barnes (Yvonne). She worked for Doctor Robinson in Saltillo. She was also a cook at the Guntown Lowes High School. In 1962, Jimmy and Laura moved to Chicago, IL. Laura attended a school of Cosmetology where she learned the basics of styling hair. Laura later worked for Borg Warner where she retired. Include Son Forrest A. Barnes (Yvonne); a daughter-in-law Alma Barnes; 5 grandsons; 7 granddaughters;a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, family and friends who also loved Laura Monroe Barnes.
