Jewell Cummings was born October 10, 1921 to the late Dennis and Mary McKinney Cummings. He attended school at Mantachie, MS. He was drafted into the army and served until he retired in 1965. He returned to Mantachie and reunited with Warren Chapel CME Church and served as steward and church treasurer until his death. He was a truck driver for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife Virgie Moore Cummings, and one daughter Lynette Cummings, one brother Loyce (Bettie) Cummings of St. Louis, MO, three sisters, Charlie Mae Isby of Dorsey, Pearl Rhodes and Ruby B. Elliot of Mantachie; one sister-in-law; three brother-in-laws; and a host of nieces and nephews
