With deepest sympathy as we remember Jewel Adams... Jewel Woods Adams was born August 9, 1928.  She was the only and baby girl in the family.  She transitioned home on Saturday, May 12, 2018 to be with the Lord.  She accepted Christ at an early age.  After graduating from Tennessee State University, she moved to Chicago, Illinois where she served as the manager of the cafeteria of Mercy Hospital.  Jewel was united in holy matrimony to the late Cassidy Adams for 43 years.  She became a member of New Zion Baptist in Saltillo, Mississippi after moving to Tupelo, Mississippi after retiring.  Alongside her husband, she ran the family store and worked in the maintenance and beautification of her church.  She was a faithful member until her health began to fail.  She leaves her cherished memories to her daughter, Mearion (Clarence) Smith, two granddaughters, Amelia Smith and Cla Rencia Smith, one great grandson, Elijah, and a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be on Thursday May 31, 2018 at Porters Memorial cemetery.  ~A Pillar of Strength in Time of Need~
