Obituary

With deepest sympathy we remember Mr. James Henry Heard...

James Henry Heard was the first born to Clarence Heard and Ada Lee in Silver City, MS.
He received Christ at an early age at Burns Chapel M.B. Church in Lampkin, MS.
James attended the Warmack-Hodge School in Lampkin, MS.  He begin a long life career in construction and enjoyed working with Hayes Construction Company.
He was the pillar of strength for his family and all that loved him.  His strong, generous heart gained respect and love for his family, neighbors and friends.  He was affectionately call, "Man Son."
He married Odean Johnson and reared George, Rodney, Dorothy, Tyrone and Henry (preceded him in death).
He leaves to cherish his memories his wife Odean Heard, daughter Dorothy Heard; three sons Rodney (Sheila) Harris, Trennis Tyrone (Jessica) Heard, all of Tupelo, MS, George Harris of Houston, TX.; two sisters: Ora Dodd of Belzoni, MS, Laura Taylor of Cleveland, OH; five brothers: Robert Heard, Clarence (Marilyn) Heard of Detroit, MI, Aaron (Brenda) Heard of Toledo, OH, Alfred Heard of Desota, TX, Victor Taylor of Silver City, MS; twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Graveside Service: Saturday, May 30, 2020 at 11 a.m at Pilgrim Rest Cemetery, Isola, MS.
Walk Thru Visitation: Friday, May 29, 2020 from 4-6pm at the funeral home.
