Hazel Virginia Wood was born May 24, 1941 to Rev. Murel Morris and Fannie (Mabry) Morris in Verona, MS. Hazel accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as her Lord and personal savior at an early age and joined in fellowship with Williams Chapel Baptist Church in Humboldt, TN. Later, Hazel moved to Toledo, OH, where she served in various ministries at New Home M.B. Church. She made her final transition to Tupelo, MS and united with Morning Star M.B. Church where she served faithfully as an usher and missionary. She leaves to cherish her memories four sisters: Odessie Sullivan and Mary Boxley both of Humboldt, TN, Kathy (David) Flores and Ila (Roy) Barringer both of Toledo, OH; three children: John (Earlean) Morris and Rev. Clifford (Belinda) Morris both of Tupelo, MS and Gerald (Angela) Morris of Memphis, TN; eleven grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Murel Morris and Fannie (Mabry) Morris, one sister, seven brothers, and one granddaughter.
