Obituary

Harold accepted Christ as his personal savior at an early age at Mount Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Chesterville, Mississippi and became an active member and deacon until his illness.

He spent his years working as a heavy duty mechanic for J & B Service, Inc., Tombigbee Waterway, Grand Gulf Nuclear Station Power Plant, and later retiring from Ingalls Shipyard FKA Northrop Grumman in April of 2005.

He enjoyed fishing, gardening, yard work, painting, cutting fire wood, and working on cars once he retired. He also had a passion for dogs. He would sit on the patio and watch the dogs bark at rabbits. He would laugh
and say, that's going to be a smart dog.

Harold was joined in holy matrimony to Jeanette McBride-Kirksey, who proceeded him in death, their legacy include children include Teresa Booker (Nikita) of Jackson,MS; Chandra Kirksey of Nashville, TN; Harold Edward Kirksey, Jr., of Tampa, FL; and Andrea Mabry (Everett) of Baldwyn, MS; and three grandsons Nikita Booker of Jackson, MS; Calvin Morris of Saltillo, MS; and Quindarius Booker of Jackson, MS. Also left to cherish his memories are his two sisters: Elizabeth McCoy of Detroit, MI; and Annie Ruth Coker of Tupelo, MS, one brother-in-law Fodies McBride of Chicago, IL, two sisters-in-law Charlene McBride and Michele McBride of Chichago, IL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, loved ones and friends.

His parents, Carvin and Lucy Kirksey, his wife Jeanette McBride-Kirksey, two sisters Louise Harris and Lureze Collier, one grandson Aaron Malik Ewing preceded him in death.
