Gerrylean Trice, affectionately known as Janie, 71, passed away January 15, 2018 at West Point Community Living Center in West Point, MS. Gerrylean was born June 24, 1946 to Willie Thomas and Ellen Ardella Peck in Salem, Alabama. Janie was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the joy of her life. She was also a friend to whomever she met. She will be dearly missed. She held many jobs throughout her life. She was most fond of being a bookkeeper and payroll clerk for her husband's business, Trice Concrete Company. Our family would like to thank everyone who reached out to us during this time. Services will be Saturday, January 20, 2018 at 12:00 p.m. at Pine Grove, M. B. Church, Shannon, MS with Rev. Jeffery Daniel, Rev. G. L. Kendricks, and Rev. Danny Gladney officiating. Burial will follow in Fields Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, January 19, 2018 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at N. L. Jones Funeral Directors. She is survived by her daughters, Manessa Hadley (Fred) of Tupelo and Ellen Ardella McDowell (Sanquillen) of Shannon; one son, Edgar Allen Trice, Jr. (Jaki) of Gulfport, MS; her mother, Ellen Ardella Peck of Chicago, Illinois; six sisters, Barbara Thomas, Emma Hamilton, Lee Pittman, Molly Faye McKinzie, Ardella McKinzie, and Nellie Peck-Patterson (Mark) all of Chicago, Illinois; three brothers, Willie Thomas, Felton McKinzie (Cassandra) and Gregory Peck (Ingrid) all of Chicago, Illinois; ten grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren, Jordan Trice of Gulfport, MS and Zooey Trice of Ohio and a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws and other relatives. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Allen Trice, Sr.; a son, Darrell Allen Trice; her father, Willie Thomas; a brother, Joseph Colquitt Thomas and a sister, Fannie Thomas.
