Evelyn Hardin was born January 10, 1937 to Lendon and Eloise (Johnson) Woods in Tupelo, MS. She was affectionately known as "Sugar Mama" by friends and family. At an early age she professed hope in Christ and united with St. Paul United Methodist Church. Later in life she united with Cross Pointe Ministries and remained a faithful member until her illness and death. She married Grover Hardin and three children were born of this union. She worked in the food service industry several years retiring from Tupelo Public Schools in 2004. She is survived by four children: Sandra (Daniel) Edwards of DeRidder, LA, Grover Charles (Genela) Hardin of Corinth, MS, Denise Hardin of Tupelo, MS, and Mark (Sherrie) Hardin of Houston, TX; a brother, Lendon (Clara) Woods of Byhalia, MS; two sisters, Lou Ella Brown of Los Angeles, CA and Brenda Johnson of Tupelo,MS; a mother-in-law, Virginia Wright; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren, in laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. By her parents, her husband of 34 years and two brothers, Fred D. Woods and Robin L. Woods.
