On December 14, 1958 in Tupelo, MS, God allowed a beautiful baby girl, Esperuinszeta, loving known as 'Zeta' to be born unto Luther and Murry T. Perkins. Zeta went home to be with the Lord, January 2, 2022.
She professed hope in Christ at an early age at White Hill Missionary Baptist Church under Rev. James Lockridge and later joined Inspirational Community Baptist Church under Rev. Cordell Phillips (retired) where she remained until her departure.
Zeta was a graduate of Tupelo High School Class of 1977 and attended Itawamba Junior College (ICC). Zeta was a people person, she was very loving and caring. She didn't like to see anyone sad or unhappy. She could make you laugh at just about anything. Her personality warmed the hearts of young and old and even beloved pets Niki and Melo. She just loved her family and friends and don't forget shopping.
Zeta was united in holy matrimony to Rufus Lauderdale, December 2, 1978. In the forty-three years of marriage they were blessed with three beautiful children Darion, Jamez and Jamita.
She leaves to cherish her memoires a devoted husband of torty-three years Rufus Lauderdale, two sons Darion (Sharita) Lauderdale, Jamez Lauderdale (Miranda Knowles), two daughters Lenice Lee Word, Jamita Lauderdale (Travis) Edwards, eleven grandchildren, two brothers John (Annie) Perkins, Bobby Joe Terrell; four sisters Yvonne McCrary and Gretten Perkins, both of Chicago, IL and Jannie Martin and Mary Perkins, both of Tupelo, MS; sister-in-laws Lois Ann (Tyrone) Ashby of Tupelo, MS Patricia (Floyd) Jackson, Sandra (Earl) Savage; a special niece Sharon Wright; two special friends Carla Knowles Pittman, Janice Thomas and many nieces, nephews other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; three brothers Earlie Gardner, Frank Gardner and Ben Gardner and three sisters Lucinda Washington, Wilma Jean Perkins and Cona Jamison.
