With deepest sympathy as we remember Elaine LaVerne Smith... Elaine LaVerne Smith was born to the late Mary Lois Sims on January 31, 1948 in St. Louis, Missouri. She gained her heavenly wings on July 22, 2018 at Sanctuary Hospice in Tupelo, MS at the age of 70 years old. She confessed Christ as Lord and Savior at an early age and joined New Prospect M.B. Church in Nettleton, MS. She was united in marriage to Willie Chandler Smith. She was the mother of five children. She was preceeded in death by her mother, Mary Lois Sims, a devoted stepfather Lorenzo Sims, her husband Willie Smith, father-in-law James Smith, mother-in-law Geneva Smith, three brother-in-laws, and three sister-in-laws. She leaves to cherish her loving memories five children: Tanya D. White of Nettleton, MS, Charlotte M. Smith of Tupelo, MS, Andre L. Smith of Tupelo, MS, Tajuana L. Smith of Nettleton, MS, and Vettorio (Ashleigh) Smith of Verona, MS; two stepchildren Roy Miller Jr. of Tupelo, MS and Lesha Miller (Chris) Diggs of Oxford, MS; a stepmother Jean Sims of Wren, MS; ten grandchildren, two great grandchildren; her best friend Peggy Walton; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. The memorial service will be held on Saturday July 28, 2018 at 12:00 P.M. at N. L. Jones Funeral Chapel. The repass will follow at Springhill M.B. Church in Nettleton, MS.
