Eddie Wayne Shumpert, Jr. was born December 8, 1956 to Eddie and Lola Shumpert, the oldest of six children. Eddie made his transition on November 10, 2020. Eddie professed a hope in Christ at an early age and joined New Bethel M.B. Church.
Eddie married Serita Ruff on September 5, 1977 and to this union two beautiful daughters were born, Senitra Suzette "Pooh" Shumpert and Ebony Marika "EbEb" Shumpert, who preceded him in death. Eddie loved his daughters dearly and deeply; the loss of his baby girl broke his heart and in recent weeks it broke his heart to leave his other baby girl.
In May of 1974, Eddie graduated from Shannon High School. He went on to manage Winn Dixie grocery store in Tupelo for years before transferring to the Columbus store. Many years later he began his career in the factory industry until he became disabled. Eddie was known for his savvy style of dressing, giving himself the nickname "Fast Eddie." Eddie had a captivating smile which lit up any room he entered. He was well known and will truly be missed.
Eddie leaves to cherish his memories his wife Serita Shumpert and his daughter Sanitra Shumpert of Tupelo, MS; his mother Lola Shumpert of Plantersville, MS; two brothers Fred Shumpert (Brenda Estes) of Plantersville, MS, Roger Shumpert of Westland, MI; one sister Vangela Shumpert-Stone of Plantersville, MS; a brother in law Jake Ruff; a sister in law Debra Ruff; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and other relatives.
He is preceded in death by his daughter Ebony Shumpert; his father Eddie Shumpert, Sr., his sister Delois Partlow, his brother Robert Shumpert and his nephew Christopher Partlow.
