With deepest sympathy as we remember the life of Detective Steven Wade... Detective Steven Wade, 37, peacefully passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at his home in Pontotoc, MS. He was a graduate East Union High School, class of 1999 where he made many life long friends. He was a faithful member of Jesus New Testament Holiness Church where he was a minister, skilled drummer, and youth leader. He completed two tours in Iraq with the 155th unit of the Army National Guard. Wade was also a Cub leader with Pack 85, a division of Boy Scouts of America. Detective Wade served on the Booneville Police Department until he moved to Tupelo. This 12 year veteran from the Tupelo Police Department leaves behind countless brothers and sisters in blue that worked together to protect and serve our community. Detective Wade was preceded in death by his mother Hattie Mae Simmons Wade of Blue Springs, MS. He is survived by his wife Arethea Gardner Wade of eight years; three children Warren, Reagan, and Morgan Raye Wade. He also leaves behind his father Ray Wade of Blue Springs, MS; one sister Allison Wade of Atlanta, GA; three brothers: Reginald Wade of Blue Springs, MS, Timothy Wade (Caron) of Fulton, MS, and Charles McGaughy (Felicia) of Mantachie, MS; and his father-in-law Pastor Willie Gardner(Shelia) of Tupelo, MS. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 30, 2018 from 2:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. at Jesus New Testament Holiness Church, 1154 CR 194, Blue Springs, MS. Funeral will be Saturday, March 31, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at White Hill Baptist Church in Tupelo, MS. ~A Pillar of Strength in Time of Need~
