Obituary

With deepest sympathy we remember Mr. Clarence James King, Sr....
Mr. Clarence James King, Sr. (Bo), 81 was born on March 18th 1939 in Marion Alabama to the late Rev. Emmitt & Cora King.  Mr. King (Bo) confessed Christ at an early age and was Baptist in Marion, Alabama.   Mr. King (Bo) moved to Fort Wayne Indiana, joined Greater Progressive Baptist Church where he served as a Faithful Member under the Leadership of the Late  Rev.  Jessie White until he relocated to Toledo Ohio. During to his transition to Toledo Ohio, he met and Married Barbara Jean King in 1984, and later relocated to Nettleton, Mississippi.  Mr. King (Bo) joined Greater New Prospect Missionary Baptist Church under the Leadership of under Pastor Leon Griffin.  Mr. King (Bo), devoted and dedicated his life and services to Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus as a Deacon, President of the Brotherhood and Handyman for his beloved Church.
In addition to his Love for Christ, Gratitude and Appreciation for his Soul Salvation Mr. King (Bo) was an Exemplified Pillar of his Community and Positive Role Model for his Family and Friends.  Rough around the edges Mr. King (Bo) devoted his life leading, loving and spending time with his Family and Friends. Excited with each new day to venture in seeing the Goodness of Almighty God he prided himself  days, months and years enjoying his yard, gardening and fixing whatever he thought he could, including people.
Mr. King (Bo), retired from B.F. Goodrich, Woodburn Indiana after 30 years, a Jack of all Trades and a Master of Many, Perfection was his Pride of Life.
Mr.  King (Bo), leaves to Cherish his Memories, his wife Barbara King of 36years, 4 daughters Delphine & Chandelyn King (Fort Wayne, IN); Deanita Henderson (Phoenix AZ) and Michell King (Indianapolis IN); Adored Grandsons Jamaul King and Gerald Bradford. 4 Stepchildren Charlotte (Jeano) Brown; Renarda (Christine) Shumpert, and Lisa Shumpert (Toledo, OH) and Treasa (Randal) Scott.  Last Surviving Brother and Best friend Allie (Lola) King; 7 Sisters Atlease Rutledge (Greensboro, NC); Geneva Edwards & Mary King (Toledo, OH); Bessie King (Fort Wayne, IN); Josephine Hatch,  Barbara Howze and Jeanette (Richard) Hopkins all of Marion, ALA.  26 Grandchildren; 27 Great Grandchildren 7 Great-great Grandchildren, Host of Nieces, Nephews, Cousin and Friends.
Mr. King (Bo) was proceeded in death by his Parents Rev Emmitt and Cora King, (Son) Clarence James King Jr; 2 Sisters:  Cora Mae Stevenson and Della Mae Armstrong and 3 Brothers: Olden King, Wiley King, and Leroy King.
While we will miss Mr. King (Bo) dearly he could encourage us to move forward, as he will often say  "Tomorrow is not Promised but Own the Day, be the best you, you can be".

Homegoing Celebration: Monday, May 11, 2020 @ 11am, Greater New Prospect Baptist Church, Nettleton, MS, Rev. Leon Griffin
Graveside Service: Tuesday, May 12, 2020 @ 11am, Eagle Grove Cemetery, Marion, AL. Walk thru visitation one hour prior to service.
