With deepest sympathy we remember Mr. Bobby Penson...
Bobby Penson, son of the late John L. Penson and Grace Penson was born March 25, 1949 in Saltillo, MS.
He attended the public schools of Tupelo and was a graduate of Carver High School. At an early age he professed his faith in Jesus and joined his family church Red Oak Grove Baptist of Saltillo, MS. During his life journey he transitioned to Jehovah's Witness where he would remain throughout his life.
He was united in holy matrimony to the love of his life, Tarnell McGaughy, in March of 1971, this union was blessed with four children and three stepchildren.
He was an active member of the Jehovah's Witness for 20 years. He enjoyed learning and consuming everything he could about Jehovah. We all enjoyed helping him read his word. The highlight of his life was spending time with his wife, eating home cooked meals, taking her for rides and having unexpected visits from his grandchildren and loving on his great-grand. He had a virtuous spirit and he had the biggest heart. He loved barbequing for family and sharing different life lessons with his children. He had a very playful sense of humor. He quietly departed this life Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Tupelo, MS. He was preceded in death by his sister Diane Edwards, Catherine Riley a daughter Romona McGaughy, two nephews Kim Riley, John Lee Riley and a grandson Tyrese Mabry.
His life will forever be cherished in the life of his beloved wife Tarnell Penson; his children: Sherry McGaughy, Robert Elliott, Louise Long, Gary Penson (Samatha), Charlotte King, Shantobreeyon Witherspoon (Anthony) all of MS; his siblings: Tommy L Penson (Diane), Maxine Penson-Caldwell, Willie Penson (Freddie) all of MO, Mamie Wells, Ben Albert Penson of MS and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
